Before theater kid was a punchline, I did it Best time of my life Lines from great authors Some not so great authors, but better than my own lines Make an audience laugh, cry, or pay attention Reward of its own Plus, be someone else From the roar of the greasepaint The smell of the crowd See, that's not my line Once the lines were memorized It was all good fun The plays run their course Like life, folks make entrances then exit stage right Never to be seen Soon, rarely even thought of Yet always with me
